Day 1: Guwahati to Kaziranga (5 hours)
Pickup from Guwahati airport (reach latest by 2.30pm) and drive to Kaziranga. Enjoy a bonfire. Relax in the lawns of this heritage stay.

Rise early in the morning for an exciting safari on Elephant back which would get you really close to the Rhinos.
Optional: Post lunch, enjoy a jeep safari to the Western range of the park which has a high density of Wild Buffalos, Rhinos and Swamp Deer. (Add on)

Day 3: Kaziranga to Shillong (7 hours)
Post breakfast begin the long drive to Shillong. On your way to Shillong visit the Umaim Lake. Umiam is a beautiful lake to enjoy boating. It is located in Nongpoh at a distance of approx 17km from Shillong. Enclosed with rich greenery of Shillong from all sides this lake is filled with blue and crystal clear water to sail without being worried about water pollution.

Day 4: Shillong
The best way to get a feel of Shillong is to explore the city on foot. Start by visiting the liveliest market in Meghalaya – Bara Bazaar locally know as Lewduh. Chilly, oranges, frogs, silk worms and many more interesting items would be found in the narrow and crowded by lanes of the market. Lunch at a local Khasi joint in the market enjoying delicacies like jadhou, pork and fish. In the afternoon gamble on a unique form of traditional archery aptly named teer, a sport very popular amongst the locals.

Day 5: Shillong to Cherrapunjee (3.5 hours)
Drive through a scenic countryside to reach Cherrapunjee. Settle into your resort and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Also visit the Nohkalikai falls and bask in their beauty. Call it an early night and wait for the thrill ride that awaits you the following day.

Day 6: Cherrapunjee - Living double rootbridge trek
Living Root Bridges are unique live bridges found only in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. The secondary roots of a species of Indian Rubber Tree Ficus Elastica- are trained over 20-25 years to form these living bridges to cross fast flowing rivers and streams. Some of these bio-engineering wonders are 53 feet, 70 feet, 100 feet long. The Double Decker Root Bridge has two levels. They are very strong, can carry many people at a time and perhaps can last 500 years.
The trek passes through some verdant slopes, criss crossed by streams. At some places the stream has made some natural ponds, containing emerald blue water where you can take a dip. The trek is moderately difficult since one need to descend 2000 feet into the valley and then climb up the same altitude again.

Day 7: Cherrapunjee to Guwahati (5 hours)
Drop to Guwahati airport. Make your way back with a bag full of memories.
