Day 1: Hanoi

Touchdown in Hanoi, the cultural capital of Vietnam. The northern Vietnamese city of Hanoi is a beguiling mix of modern and ancient Asian traditions and colonial legacies. Elegant balconied buildings front tree-lined boulevards, while cyclists and mopeds weave through the city’s narrow backstreets.

Settle into your comfortable city centered hotel and relax. In the evening, head out to self explore the city around you. Discover the historical sites and Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Treat your taste buds as you browse stalls bursting with intriguing produce.

Day 2: Hanoi

We have an exciting day planned for you. Post breakfast, head out on a full-day trip as you travel through the Ninh Binh region, visiting Hoa Lu and Tam Coc. Your first stop will be in Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Learn about its founding and tenure as the capital. Visit the 2 temples built on the ground of the old royal palace, and find out more about feudal dynasties and historical periods in Vietnamese history.

Continue to Tam Coc, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. Your meal will include goat meat, which is the area specialty. Then board a boat to Tam Coc, known as the Ha Long Bay on land. Explore  the 3 limestone caves on the Ngo Dong River, and take in the peaceful scenery of limestone mountains, rice paddies, and temples as you pass by.

Say goodbye to Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba as you make your way back to Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi to Ha Long Bay

Vietnam’s classic postcard shots of calm blue sea dotted with tree-clad limestone islands - Ha long Bay. Relax and get into the beguiling rhythm of Ha long Bay as you spend a night cruising Ha Long. Choose to do nothing and just relax, or feast on sumptuous seafood. Go swimming in the bay, kayak through limestone caves, try night fishing or read a book while you adjust your suntan on the boat’s tanning deck.

Day 4: Ha Long  Bay to Hanoi (By Cruise)

Your cruise offers an array of activities such as kayaking, squid fishing, hiking and water sports. You can also enjoy a refreshing drink at the bar while taking in the sea views.  Feel the winds and let your hair loose as you make your way back to Hanoi.

Settle back into Hanoi and move out to discover the historical sights and delectable bites of Hanoi’s Old Quarter on a 2.5-hour food tour of the city. Accompanied by a passionate gastronomic guide, feast your senses on the exotic flavors of Vietnam; sample fresh fruit, sumptuous street food and local delicacies like pork crepes as you stroll amid the antique charm of the Old Quarter.

Day 5: Hanoi- Hoi An

Catch your flight out to Da Nang and get picked up and transferred to quaint Hoi An. The UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An is an ancient trading port on the Vietnamese coast of the South China Sea. Today this 2,000-year-old city is a popular destination known for its well-preserved streets and boutique charm.

Day 6: Hoi An

Known for its countryside cycling, set out by bicycle or motorbike to explore the countryside around Hoi An. Try something different, as you partake in a traditional cooking class at the nearby Cham village.

Kick off your tasting tour with a bowl of Cao Lau, a Hoi An specialty of noodles, pork, fresh vegetables and rice paper. Taste some of the best in the region, and learn the art of how the noodles are made with sticky rice soaked in the water from the Ba Le Well, the oldest well in Hoi An.

Continue to a local family home to help make another Hoi An specialty, white rose cakes – a shrimp-stuffed dumpling shaped like a rose. The final stop of the day is in Cam Nam village, where you’ll feast on more tasty Vietnamese dishes, and learn the ancient tradition of ‘Ying and Yang foods’

Day 7: Hoi An
