Day 1 and Day 2: Fort Cochin
Explore the wonderful city of Fort Cochin.
Come to your Victorian stay directly from the airport/station, settle in and get ready for a day exploring the colorful streets of Cochin. Start with a lunch at one of the eclectic cafes and head out for a heritage walk, to explore St. Francis Church, The Dutch cemetery and the Bishop House. Local sights are a walk away and wonderful cafes will host you for a tea break. Head out to the colorful Mattanchery part of town to look through Jew Town and the old Synagogue. Visit a Papadam factory run by local ladies and a candle making workshop. Local art at its best. In the evening watch a dazzling Kathakali performance.
Experiences: Heritage walking tour of Fort Cochin and Matancherry, Visit to the Chinese Fishing nets, try your hand at the century old fishing technique. Kathakali dance show and go behind the scenes to watch them do their face paint.
Day 3: Cochin to Munnar
Start off for your road trip post breakfast. A 4 hour drive through the Kerala countryside will get you to the tea country of Munnar. Hills and valleys and lush landscape will welcome you and your stay in a tea plantation is an experience in itself. A visit to the tea factory will be the plan for the rest of the day.

Day 4: Munnar
Immerse yourself in the slow lifestyle of the hills. Go for a lazy morning bicycle ride in the hills, and enjoy your plantation stay. Local hikes and a Kalaripattu show in the evening is planned.

Day 4: Munnar to Thekkady
Start off for your road trip post breakfast. A 4 hour drive through the Kerala countryside will get you to the lush nature reserve of Thekaddy where you will stay in your boutique hotel. You are in spice country and a great opportunity to get to know more about the spice you use daily in your kitchen. This is an interactive cooking demo with our chef who will demonstrate the art of using spices. The resident naturalist will introduce all the spices which chef has been using for this cooking demo, this is DIY activity.

Day 6: Thekkady to Alleypey
A 4 hour drive will take us to the rice bowl of Kerala. Backwaters and a slow island life beckons us. We are staying in a houseboat, enjoying the slow backwater life. Kuttanad is a village which has rice farms below sea level. Watch the slow village surround you: people waiting for the boats to go to schools and an eco system that revolves around the water body amidst which they stay. Do your meals on the boat and watch the sun set over Lake Vembad.

Day 7: Alleypey to Varkala
Sunny cliffs of Varkala will welcome you, post a 3 hour drive. A cliffside cottage stay will be a perfect way to enjoy this hippie beach town. A backpacker’s favorite, Varkala boasts of many gorgeous cafes.
Enroute to Varkala Janardhanaswamy Temple. Near the temple you can visit the Elephant camp. Where you can give the animals a wash and feed them. This will be a new adventure for most of us.
A bike ride to Kappil beach will be a great way to explore the countryside. Kappil beach has the backwaters on one side and the sea in the other. Sheer magic and beauty will welcome you here.

Day 8: Varkala to Trivendrum
For those looking to relax, a beachside breakfast on the shacks is a must do followed by an Ayurveda therapy in the noon. We leave for Cochin post lunch and arrive at our hotel near the airport. It’s our last evening in this beautiful land and we leave the next day with many fond memories and new buddies.
Day 9: Trivendrum to home
With a Bag full of Memories. For those looking for a bit of bucket list adventure, make a quick day trip to Kanyakumari. Its an add on activity and you can add it to your trip.
